|Feed the Hungry
Jesus told the disciples, “You give them something to eat.” St. Margaret’s 2020 Vision for Outreach Ministries is to feed hungry bodies and hungry spirits.St. Margaret’s partners with local organizations to reduce hunger especially in King County. As a participating congregation of Congregations for the Homeless, we host a men’s shelter annually, as well as volunteer to feed people at the Salvation Army’s Crossroads Meal Program and work with local organizations to feed hungry school children. We advocate for social change so that fewer people are hungry. Contact the Outreach Committee to volunteer your skills and talents.
St. Margaret’s Thrift Shop provides good used clothing and items for shoppers, job skills and a way to give back for our volunteer staff, and part of our revenue goes to serving people living in need. We welcome volunteers and donations. Contact the Thrift Shop Manager for more information.
The Outreach Committee awards two scholarships to graduating high school students who are entering a college, technical school, or university in the fall of 2017. Scholarships are based upon the following criteria:
